Sentient

in your shadow
in your splendor
i yet wonder
what are you?

warm and tender
i surrender
and i wonder
why are you?

dark and hazel
lost in gaze
i do wonder...
where are you?

@aakash - well sentient doesn't have to have personification and thus maybe more apt as "what" than "who". and the question "what are you?" makes the topic more amorphous and thus more out of grasp than the question " who are you" i feel.

Ohh i dont mind the usage of 'what' at all, in fact i was reminded of Ghalib's 'har ek bata pe kahte ho tum ki tu kya hai'. Here he did not say 'tu kaun hai' but a 'tu kya hai'.

I wanted to know if THAT was the intention. What say madam anki?
